Luis R. Vargas
Luis R. Vargas was a judge of the Superior Court of San Diego County in California.
Vargas (Republican Party) ran for election to the California State Senate to represent District 40. He lost in the general election on November 6, 2018.
Vargas was a judge for the Superior Court of San Diego County in California. He retired in December 2012 after accepting a job at the San Diego County District Attorney's office.[1][2]

Vargas ran for re-election to the superior court in 2012. As an unopposed incumbent, his name did not appear on the ballot. After the primary election, Vargas was automatically re-elected.[3]
