Luis Ramos is a judge of the Superior Court of Santa Clara County in California. He was appointed to the court by Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) on August 28, 2020, to replace Sharon A. Chatman. The governor's appointment allowed him to immediately assume the office that he had been elected to assume in January 2021.[1]

Ramos ran for election for judge of the Superior Court of Santa Clara County, California. Ramos won in the primary election on March 3, 2020.

Although California Superior Court judges are elected in nonpartisan elections, a press release from Gov. Newsom's office announcing Ramos' appointment on August 28, 2020, identified Ramos as a Democrat.[1]
