Luis Salaveria
Luis Salaveria is the Hawaii Director of Finance. He assumed office on April 28, 2023. His current term ends on December 7, 2026.
The Hawaii State Senate appointed Salaveria to Budget Director on April 28, 2023 to replace Craig Hirai. [1]
Biography
Prior to being appointed Hawaii Director of Finance, Salaveria served as Senior Director of Government Affairs at Ashford-Wriston, a limited liability law partnership, from 2018 to 2022. [2]
From 2014 to 2018, Salaveria served as the State of Hawaii’s Director for the State Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism, where he was responsible for the State’s economy and working with trade and industry. Prior to that, he served as the Deputy Finance Director for the State Department of Budget and Finance from 2011 to 2014, where he was responsible for managing the State’s fiscal operations. Prior to his service in government, Mr. Salaveria spent 10 years in the private sector as a finance manager for one of the nation’s largest healthcare maintenance organizations, Kaiser Permanente. Shoker received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 1993.[4]
