Luisa is running a write-in progressive campaign. Luisa Sonnek grew up in the Washington DC area. As a world traveler, Luisa lived in Egypt as well as attended a culinary school in Paris, France. Upon returning to the United States, she continued her culinary education at La Academia de Cuisine earning a professional culinary degree. She enjoyed a 25-year career as a professional chef before moving to northwest Pennsylvania to be near her family, living here for fourteen years. Luisa holds a BA in Psychology and Fine Arts. She holds a Master's degree in Community Counseling and has completed Art Therapy training. Luisa is now working on a PH.D. in Psychology. As a small business owner, Luisa is invested in the economic future of northwestern Pennsylvania. She has deliberately designed her practice to help the disenfranchised, particularly young people, and spends her days listening to the difficulties facing those in need. Luisa's life experience of overcoming financial hardship in this region of Pennsylvania coupled with her education and career in counseling uniquely equips her with both the knowledge and the intuition to empathize with the struggle of constituents and the motivation to take real action on behalf of Pennsylvanians.

  • It can no longer be denied that we need Med 4 all.
  • We must elect honest leaders that are only motivated by service to our citizens, not money and power
  • We must take our environment and the Green New Deal seriously
Things that affect all of our lives

Most Americans - regardless of being on the left or the right - have become disempowered and economically insecure. In our district, the number of people living below the poverty line is too high.

I remember the last time we had a strong middle class. Most households only needed one paycheck to raise a family, live a good life, own a home and car, and still save a little for retirement. I've watched as the middle class began to shrink and began to live paycheck to paycheck. Now in many households, an unexpected bill of 100 dollars or less can mean disaster.

I've also watched as the Constitutional rights and freedoms this country was built on have slowly been chipped away - freedoms we all hold dear. here is a lot of scaremongering and millions spent in propaganda about the word 'socialism'. The goal of this is to get you to believe living in a Democratic Socialistic society is a bad thing.

Fun Fact: you already do. Socialism isn't communism. Democratic Socialism is simply regulating corporations and giving benefits to our people. It is in it's simplest form- A Government FOR the people.

Socialism was a scare word used in 1935 when FDR signed Social Security and Bank Deposit Insurance into law. When someone screams about socialism, what they are really saying is "down with progress".

Moreover, the programs suggested under this system are overwhelmingly popular and will benefit the American people, regardless of party affiliation.
The people are the most important! Not money in politics, power, or voting in bills because your doners want you to.
Be aware of the needs of the citizens of not only your district but of your country.
Perhaps what we really need are well educated, compassionate, honest, selfless, people with critical thing skills.
You are NOT free if...

Your job doesn't pay enough to put a roof over your head and food on the table

You can't afford transportation

You don't have access to medical care and medication

You don't have control over your own body

You don't have the freedom to peacefully protest

You are not given a safe and fair work environment

You cannot demand that something is done to preserve our environment

I believe all Representatives and Senators should have term limits
With this pandemic, we have heard many chilling stories but one of the worst was that of a young man who was turned away from getting medical care because he did not have insurance. He died.
