Father

Friend Hard Working Laborer Socially Liberal Fiscally Conservative Choose Life Values Matter Black Lives Matter Mental Health Matters Science is Real I want a cleaner sustainable world for my daughters Let's discuss Equity AND Equality Educator are overworked and underpaid We can agree to disagree My political differences don't make me an enemy Let's learn, have adult conversations and figure the tough stuff out together. I'm raising two strong talented girls, you can't grab them anywhere, grow up and lead Mr. President.

  • Covid has taught me a living wage is Essential for Essential workers
  • I'm tired of the division. I'm going to be a part of the solution, not the problem.
  • Keep your mining operations away from my community!
Mental Health Awareness, especially as we are witnessing tragic deaths on social media.

Educators need smaller classes and more cooperative support resources that empower their decisions, not handcuff them with red tape.
Communities need the ability to control their planning and the ability today no to gravel pits.

Leadership is tough but it takes real leaders to sit at the table with opposing views and figure out solutions that work for both sides!
Martin Luther King's "Letter from Birmingham Jail"
I'm a YMCA kid and I think you don't get better values than Caring Honesty Respect and Responsibility.
I work my tail off everyday. I'm in peoples homes, listening to their struggles (even during Covid) and I'm ready to bring a voice to regular people to Lansing
Listening to the district and every voice in the district. I will not be bought.
It's not about me. The best legacy I can leave is know that all my constituents are in a better place after I've left office.
One book, that's it? The Bible, especially the Gospels, but that one book informs so many others I love from Narnia to Lord of the Rings to even Harry Potter. Zen and the art of Motorcycle maintenance and the Four agreements both changed my life in positive ways and I sometimes feel like I need to revisit Dickens with the state of the world as it is, but the Golden Rule is my favorite Commandment and I don't think I find a better book to inform how I want to be a father and friend than the Bible.
After the passing of Chadwick Bozeman, I'm leaning towards Black Panther mainly so I can take care of the KKK, but there are some great Star Wars characters I can think of too.
I think it went something like chicken wing chicken wing hot dogs and macaroni, chilling with my homies.
Depression, guys don't talk about. Guys aren't supposed to get it. I would love nothing more than to start a campaign to honor veterans, law enforcement officers and other men who have experienced trauma so that they know there is a brotherhood of men supporting them, wanting them to get healthy and to hand their guns over to friends before taking their own life. Suicide rates are far to high and we have lost far too many great men during temporary times of crisis and it's time we start the conversation to make it easier for men to talk about depression and heal.
I think the State House needs to be more directly connected to the voters. I would like to push for a more "direct democracy" form of governance that allows the citizens a greater say in House decisions.
No, I think that is exactly what's wrong with my state and the system that has been created for who can access governance. I have twice been in urgent care / emergency care in the past year and still managed to show up for work that same day. Yet, it's impossible for a working man like myself to have a meeting with the bureau of elections outside of a normal 9 to 5 work week. Sadly, some of us are too busy and have to work too hard to feed families and keep a roof over their head to understand the nuances of the "political game" but it doesn't mean we don't deserve a voice and that is what I'm trying to do.
Adapting to Global Climate Change

Healing the partisan division in our state

Incorporating mental health services into our public safety.
Working, functional, respectful and the promise that improving our state isn't partisan but a challenge we all face together.
I like the idea of the commission for redistricting. I hope it goes as well as planned but with anything continual improvement must be accounted for.
Im currently closely following the Grasslake Community's fight against mining operations as it directly impacts potential operations and litigation with proposed Richland mining operations.
