I have been a passionate and skilled consultant, author, and speaker who helps technology startups and local businesses build and grow their ecosystems. I have worked with leading companies such as VMware, Atlassian, and Harness, creating and managing successful developer programs, events, and communities across the globe. My mission is to bring the voices of my neighbors to where it is needed and to improve their experience with the city and services they use. I am always looking for ways to connect, empower, and inspire our local community.
  • I live and work in Sand City
  • I have attended and been involved with City Council for the past four years attending most meetings.
  • I will bring the concerns of the community to council to have them acted on.

I look up to Pete Buttigieg, I appreciate how he tries to reach people who don't always agree with him but tries to find a solution that works for the most people. I hope I can follow his example.

Willingness to listen to voices other than their own. A desire to help those who need it. Honesty and Transparency are key.
I can process information and recognize the patterns quickly then explain them to the other members of council. I have been doing this over the past several years allowing for more informed and relevant discussions to take place.
Being present in Sand City, listening to the people who live here, create and implement programs that give great value for their tax dollars. Supporting the Sand City Police, Monterey Fire and other public services provided by the city.
I have a 6 year old daughter, I want her to see that just a regular person that isn't wealthy can join government and achieve change to make her future better than if they had not.
The destruction of the space shuttle Challenger. I was very interested in the mission of it because there was a school teacher on board.
My first job was apprenticing as an HVAC repair man and installer for my father in Canada. I learned electrical installation, plumbing, carpentry and many other trade skills that have helped me in my life. I still work with my father when I go home to Canada or he comes out here to help me on a project.

Financial transparency and government accountability are incredibly important. Sand City is special in the fact that it is normally running a budget surplus so it can invest in things that other places can not. The projects the city takes on need to look for the future rather than just preserving funds incase of litigation.
