Lupe Ramos-Montigny
Lupe Ramos-Montigny (Democratic Party) was an at-large member of the Michigan State Board of Education. She assumed office in 2013. She left office on January 1, 2021.
Biography
A former teacher, Ramos-Montigny had spent 36 years teaching in Michigan before her retirement in 2008. Outside of the classroom, she has served as chairwoman of the Committee to Honor Cesar E. Chavez, as a member of the Student Advancement Foundation Board, and as the vice-chair of the Kent County Citizens Friend of the Court Advisory Board. Ramos-Montigny's political experience includes her election as second vice-chair of the Michigan Democratic Party.[1]

Ramos-Montigny was first elected to the board in November 2012 and took office in January 2013. She had previously run for election to the board in November 2010. She did not seek re-election in 2020. She left office on January 1, 2021.
