Lurie Thomason is a former member of the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education who represented the state at large. Thomason was appointed to the board by Gov. John Bel Edwards (D) on January 11, 2016. He resigned in December 2019 for health and family reasons.[1]

Biography

As of November 2017, Thomason was an assistant professor at Grambling State University, a position he has held since 1995. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Thomason has served on two criminal justice boards and has worked as a mentor for youth at Swanson Correctional Center.[2]

Thomason was appointed to the board by Gov. John Bel Edwards (D) on January 11, 2016, as one of three members appointed to serve a term on the board concurrent with the governor's term in office.[3]
