Lynda Jones (Tennessee)

Biography
Lynda Jones was born in Lima, Ohio. She earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1986 and a J.D. from the University of Memphis in 1989. Before her election to the court in 2014, Jones was the managing partner at her law firm, The Jones Law Group PLLC, in Nashville, Tennessee.[1][2]

Primary: She was successful in the Democratic primary on May 6, 2014, receiving 24.7 percent of the vote. She competed against Jefre S. Goldtrap, Tee Gorham, Sheryl Guinn, Paul Walwyn, Jay Norman, and Edward S. Ryan.
General: She defeated Adam Dread in the general election on August 7, 2014, receiving 58.9 percent of the vote.
