Lynda Moss was a 2018 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the At-Large Congressional District of Montana.[1] Moss withdrew from the race on April 19, 2018, announcing on Twitter, "A leader sometimes must step aside and let go. I am announcing my exit from the Democratic house primary and will endorse after the Greater Montana forum in Helena on May 3. It has been an honor to run and thank you for your support."[2] Because the withdrawal deadline was on March 12, 2018, her name still appeared on the ballot.[3]

Moss is a former Democratic member of the Montana State Senate, representing District 26 from 2005 to 2013. She is a former Majority Whip.

Moss earned her BFA from the University of Nebraska, Omaha, in 1977. She went on to receive her M.A. from the University of Northern Iowa in 1979. She then earned her MFA from Montana State University in 1984.

Moss was the Curator of Education at Western Heritage Center from 1979 to 1982. She then worked as Executive Director for Western Heritage Center from 1986 to 2002. She has been Executive Director of the Foundation for Community Vitality since 2002.

Moss was a candidate for the Montana House of Representatives, District 14, in 2000.
