Lynn McLaughlin Murray
Lynn McLaughlin Murray was a candidate for Full Term Commencing 1/4/2018 representative on the Cleveland Municipal Court in Ohio. McLaughlin Murray was defeated in the general election on November 7, 2017.
Murray previously served as a judge on the Cleveland Municipal Court. She was appointed, effective on January 7, 2011, by Governor Ted Strickland to fill the vacancy on the Cleveland Municipal Court created by the election of Judge Kathleen Ann Keough to the 8th District Court of Appeals.[1] Her term expired on December 31, 2011.
Biography
Murray received her undergraduate degree from Baldwin-Wallace College and her J.D. from the Case Western Reserve University.[2] Prior to joining the court, Murray was a magistrate with the Cleveland Municipal Court. She also served as an assistant director of law with the Tax Division of the City of Cleveland.[1]

The judges of the Ohio Municipal Courts are each elected to six-year terms. The elections for this court are nonpartisan contested elections with partisan primaries. To serve on this court, a judge must be a resident of the municipality, licensed in the state, and practice law for six years or serve as a judge of court of record.[4]
