Lynn Stewart
Lynn D. Stewart (b. 1941) is a former Republican member of the Nevada Assembly, representing District 22 from 2006 to 2016. In the 2013 session, Stewart served as Minority Whip. He served as Assistant Minority Floor Leader from 2009 to 2011.
Stewart did not seek re-election to the Nevada State Assembly in 2016.
Biography
Stewart received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Brigham Young University. His professional experience includes working as a student teaching supervisor for Brigham Young University-Idaho and as a government and history high school teacher. He served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1970.

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 14, 2014. Incumbent Lynn Stewart defeated Richard Bunce in the Republican primary. On November 2, 2010, Stewart won election to the Nevada State Assembly. He defeated Scott Chappel, Duane Christy, and Calanit Atia in the June 8 primary. Steward bested Kevin Donovan (D), Nathan Santucci (L), and Salli Durbin (Independent American) in the general election.

On November 4, 2008, Stewart won re-election to the District 22 Seat in the Nevada Assembly, defeating Nathan Santucci and Joshua Starbuck.[14]

Nevada Policy Research Institute
The Nevada Policy Research Institute, a Nevada-based conservative-libertarian think tank, releases a "Legislative Report Card" evaluating members of the Nevada State Legislature on "each lawmaker's voting record on legislation impacting the degree of economic freedom and education reform." Bills determined by the Institute to be of greater significance are weighted accordingly. According to the Institute, "a legislator with a score above 50 is considered to be an ally of economic liberty."[17]

Stewart received a score of 43.98 percent in the 2011 report card, ranking 26th out of all 63 Nevada State Legislature members.[17]
