Lynnette has over 40 years of educational experience being day care director in Wichita KS and as a licensed special education teacher in Mulvane and Hutchinson KS. Lynnette was born in Denver Co and resided in Kansas for 44 years. Currently retired, Lynnette has been a

long-time employee for USD 308 and continues to serve as a substitute teacher and as the local Hutchinson NEA President. In addition, she has been involved in various non-profit and faith organizations. This advocacy experience proves to be a great asset to her as a leader.

"I believe the role of Representative is to listen to the voters, do the research and work with others to create legislation that meets the needs of District 104, which includes Inman, Buhler and Hutchinson, and our state. To do this I am personally engaging with the voters both

individually and in their community and will continue this practice after I am elected."
  • Public Education
  • Health Care which includes affordable health insurance, expanidng Medicaid and Women's health decisions must be between her and her physician
  • Economy: Fair taxes, affordable housing and liveable wages.
Fully funding public schools and womens health decisions being between her and her physician.
Ms. Shaw was my high school English teacher. A black woman, who grew up in the segregated school system in the 50’s and 60’s and became a high school teacher . She taught us to think, to question, to listen. She shared stories of resilience which inspired us to continue the fight for what was right with integrity and dignity.
Integrity, listening and responding to constituents, accountablilty and transparency
I decided to run for office when my current Representative only votes for what he campaigned and does not consistently respond to his voters. Qualities that I possess are listening and following through with individuals, being a learner and willing to hear all views in order to grow and make decisions based on facts. I have been a Board president for an independent school and local educator union president and bring from that work the ability to colloborate, to work together to make hard decisions and to hold myself and the organization to a standard of integrity and transparency.
To listen to the voters in House District 104 and represent them at the Ks State House.
That my journey in life has made a positive impact that they in turn impact others for good.
Elementary school in mid 1960's. I distinctly remember seeing my teacher crying and saying that President Kennedy had been shot. Following that I remember the deep sadness of the assignation of Dr King
High school, rode the city bus in Denver CO to work at a day care center after school
Ms. Shaw, my high school English teacher had has read The Source by James Michener. This author takes the beginning of time and weaves generations throughout history to modern times. I then read many of his books which so clearly illustrated how the decisions of one generation greatly affect generations to come. My grandfather was the first generation as a German from Russia in 1900. I will be forever grateful for the decision of his mother to make the journey as a young pregnant woman to America. It changed the trajectory of generations to come.
A time traveler to experience the world past and the future.
Inequity and injustice are two things i have struggled with in my life. Since I was in upper elementary school I was aware of injustice and inequity and have continued to work towards inclusiveness, equality and acceptance. During my junior high years Denver integrated the public school system. My mother was PTA president of our local grade school. We had to take the phone "off the hook" with the hate calls she received. That experience and seeing the discrimination of race and social economics has been foundational in my work for many decades.
The ideal relationship is between the governor and the state legislature would be colloboration and integrity by creating a balance of power along with the judicial branch that best eets the needs of Kansas and its residents.
Declining poplulation of rural KS and the increasing poplulation of urban KS. How to support rural KS which holds the most agriculture land and business. Water and supporting public education.
It is critial for state legislators to be actively involved in their community, which could include non-profit work, business owrld and advocating for the needs of their community which could also be viewed as being involved in "politics".
It is beneficial to build relationships with other legislators to be able to speak to all of Kansas residents. Working across 'the aisle" will best meet the needs of the state.
My personal story of my sister dying at age 60 due to lack of health care is shared by many in my community. The stories are many with the profound loss of friends and family felt deeply.
As an early childhood teacher I love it when children begin to get humor and make jokes. So, yes "Why did the chicken cross the road" and Knock Knock jokes with the multiple silly answers are my favorite
This is a difficult question as KS residents have very differing opinions following the pandemic. This is why three branches of governement and the balance of power is critical.
When elected, I will listen to the priorities of my District 104, observe the priorities of those elected on Nov 5 and move forward with proposed bills that most impact positively my district.
Children and elderly, Public Schools, Social Services
Financial transparency and government accountability are critical issues for maintaining the integrity of State and Kansas and for the voters.
State ballot initiatives are good. This allows for the voters to be heard. The difficulty in KS is that some legislatures do not respect state ballor intiatives and are known to find ways to undermine the last two KS State ballot initiatives.
