Mabel Johnson Mayfield is a district court judge for the Family Division of the 5th District Court, which presides over Berrien County in Michigan.[1] She was appointed to the court by former Governor John Engler in January 2000 and was re-elected in November 2008 and November 2014.[2][3] Her term expired on December 31, 2020.[4]

Mayfield received her B.S. in economics from Purdue University and her J.D. degree from the Valparaiso University School of Law.[2]
Career
Before she became a judge, Mayfield worked for ten years with Berrien County Legal Services. She also previously served as a juvenile court attorney referee for seven years.[2]
