Madeleine Flier
Madeleine Flier was an associate justice on the Second District, Division Eight of the California Courts of Appeal. She was appointed by former Governor Gray Davis on August 26, 2003, and was sworn-in on September 25.[1][2] She ran for retention in 2014.[3][4] She retired in February 2018.[5]
Education
Flier received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1963 and earned her J.D. from the University of San Fernando Valley College of Law in 1968.[6][5]
Career
Flier began her career as a prosecutor in the Los Angeles City Attorney's office in 1968. She was promoted to chief of the Special Prosecution Division in 1974. In 1977, she was appointed to the Los Angeles Municipal Court and was promoted to the Superior Court of Los Angeles County in 1980. She served on this court until 2003.[6] She served on the California Second District Court of Appeal until February 28, 2018.[5]
