Madison County Justice Court judges selected in Mississippi primary

Madison County, Mississippi: On August 2nd, Mississippi voters in Madison County participated in a Republican primary election. The finalists will advance either to a runoff on August 23rd or straight to the general election on November 8th, in some cases without opposition. There were three contested seats on the Madison County Justice Court.
District 1: Marsha Weems Stacey (43%) and Gregory J. Weber (37%) were the winners, edging out the third candidate, Trey O'Cain (19%). They will compete against each other in a runoff election on August 23rd and the winner will replace retiring Judge Tommy Faulkner, since there is no Democratic challenger in the general election.
District 3: Bill Weisenberger came out an immediate winner in the race to replace retiring Judge Cindy B. Alford. He received 65% of the vote, beating out Terry Hawkins (27%) and Ernest Stewart (7%). He will not face a challenger in November.
District 4: Lawyers Bruce McKinley (29.4%) and Michael Louvier (29.3%) finished "neck and neck" and managed to oust incumbent Judge Carole A. Davis (19%). Kim Wood (22%) also competed in the Republican primary. McKinley and Louvier now prepare to face William Featherston, and independent and Gigi Gibson, a Democrat, in November.[1]
