Madison County School District is located in central Mississippi in Madison County. The county seat is Canton. Madison County was home to 103,465 residents in 2015, according to the United States Census Bureau.[4] The district was the fifth-largest school district in the state in the 2013–2014 school year and served 12,548 students.[5]

Demographics

Madison County outperformed compared to Mississippi as a whole in terms of higher education achievement from 2010 to 2014. The United States Census Bureau found that 46.3 percent of county residents aged 25 years and older had attained a bachelor's degree, compared to 20.4 percent for state residents. The median household income for the county was $63,156, compared to $39,464 for the state. The percentage of people below poverty level for the county was 13.1 percent, while it was 22.0 percent for the state.[4]
