I am Madison Oatman I am 30 years old, and I am a construction worker. I was born in Oregon and raised by hard working, loving, blue collar parents.

I was inspired to run for Congress to be the voice for all blue collar, family oriented, wholesome valued Oregonians and Americans alike. Our country has been impacted by a decrease of individuals who are willing to roll up their sleeves and build our future. I am here to represent all of us who understand the importance of working hard to provide.

Our individual freedoms that we have been given to us by God must be maintained. Since our country has lost a sense of this, I vow to restore these freedoms. As a God-fearing man I must encourage our community to support our basic constitutional rights as they were written; freedom of speech, freedom of religion and our right to bear arms.

  • Term limits for the U.S. House of Representatives as well as the U.S. Senate. We have had people in public office and in the same positions for longer than I have been alive. Something needs to change in Washington D.C.
  • I am Pro-Life and I believe that every unborn child has a right to live. I will fight to preserve those innocent lives as well protect them.
  • 2nd Amendment rights are crucial to protect citizens and their families. I am a gun owner as well as an avid hunter we need to protect our rights to own guns and protect our families from a tyrannical government.
I am personally passionate about protecting the freedoms of Americans. I am passionate about smaller government as the government has a time and a place in our society. The federal government does not need to be involved in certain areas of our lives. The government does not get to co-parent your children it is not the governments place to teach your children about gender orientation or racism that is between the parents and children. The government has no place telling us if we need to wear a mask in public or if we need to be vaccinated to live our daily lives. I hope to make the government presence in our daily lives as minimal as possible.
I look up to my father and would love to follow my father's example on how to be a good man and a good leader.
The most important characteristics is honesty, integrity, and leadership. Most important principles should be to let people who elected them to be their voice.
I would like to leave the legacy of inspiring people to do things that they did not think was possible.
9/11 Was the first historical event that I remember. I was 9 years old at that time.
I worked as a bus boy for a restaurant in high school and moved up to be a line cook throughout my tenure. I worked at that job for 8 years.
As an institution it is unique because there are 435 individuals that serve as public representatives. There is a lot of diversity in the House of Representatives.
I do not believe it is because we built our nation on the fact that anyone person can run for political office.
I believe that the biggest challenges as a nation will be getting the economy back on track after covid and getting our country out of debt. We need to get people back to work and make it easier for businesses to operate in the United States. We less spending on a federal level and we need to quit sending money to other countries. We need to adopt the American first policies that we had in place.
I believe we need term limits and that two terms each three years long would be the best term length.
All government officials need term limits. Government officials should not be able to make a career out of politics. Our constitution was built on anyone can run for office and you do not have to be rich to do so.
I believe compromise is not only desirable but necessary to get things done. However, if one side is not willing to compromise why should the other it takes two sides to compromise and come to an agreement. I also will not compromise on my beliefs as a God-fearing man and other policies I am passionate about.

Campaign website

Oatman’s campaign website stated the following:

Term Limits

I am against the career politicians that have been in office for decades. Some of the politicians have been in office longer than I have been alive. I believe our country should have term limits for the congress just like we do for our presidents.

Immigration

Our current administration is for open borders in America and is letting people into the country without vetting anyone entering the United States. I will advocate for secure borders and to insure a secure America. We have rules in place for people to become an American citizen I believe those rules should be maintained.

Education

I believe that the government should not co-parent your children. We need to keep critical race theory and sexual orientation out of schools. Teachers need to keep politics and personal opinions out of the classroom. Those are subjects that are between the child and their parents the government or school board should not be involved.

Small Business

I believe whole heartedly in entrepreneurship and in creating your own business. We need to make it easier to start businesses and more feasible for businesses to thrive in Oregon and America. I am a strong supporter of less taxes and less government involvement in small business. I will stand up for small business and entrepreneurs alike.

Big Government/Government Presence

Government has a time and place and as of late our government has been putting its nose where it does not belong. Like social issues and your individual freedoms. I will advocate for a smaller government presence in the areas where government presence is not beneficial.

2nd Amendments Rights

We the people have feared what life would look like without our second amendment rights. Our second amendment rights were designed to aid in our protection against a tyrannical government and invasion. Without our second amendment rights how are we expected to protect and sustain our cherished households against a tyrannical government? I will advocate to sustain and protect our individual freedoms to bear arms.[2]
