Mae A. D'Agostino is a federal judge for the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York. She joined the court in 2011 after being nominated by President Barack Obama. Prior to her nomination, she was lawyer in Albany, New York. She is the first woman from Albany to represent that court.[1][2]
Education
D'Agostino received her undergraduate degree from Siena College and her J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law.[1][2]
Professional career
D'Agostino had spent her legal career prior to judicial service in private practice. In 1997, she co-founded D'Agostino, Krackeler, & Maguire, P.C.[3][2]

On September 29, 2010, President Obama nominated D'Agostino to the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York.[4] D'Agostino received a unanimous rating of "Well Qualified" from the American Bar Association. She had a hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee on February 2, 2011 and you can find her hearing transcript here.[5]
D'Agostino's nomination was returned to the President at the end of the 111th Congress. President Obama resubmitted the nomination on January 5, 2011.
D'Agostino's nomination was confirmed by the Senate on March 28, 2011, by a Senate vote of 88-0.[6]
