The city of San Jose, California held elections for city council on November 4, 2014. A primary election took place on June 3, 2014. Because one candidate received more than 50% of the vote in the primary election for District 5, its general election was called off. Magdalena Carrasco defeated incumbent Xavier Campos and Aaron Resendez.[1][2]
