I am a resident of South Kingstown. I was able to purchase my first home in 2016. I work in the area and love being part of the community. I am aware of the many issues that face the voters of our district and I am committed to advocating on behalf of my neighbors if elected. I am passionate about keeping our district accessible to the working families of Rhode Island. We have so much potential in Rhode Island and I hope that a change in the way our state government operates will fix the systems that are so broken in our state.
  • Implementing a Green New Deal in Rhode Island will protect us from the threat of climate change but also create a new economy that provides good paying jobs for the people of Rhode Island.
  • District 37 lacks affordable housing. It affects many things, our local economy, our school districts and the culture of our community. We must create a more broad base of residents to make sure our communities stay vibrant.
  • We must have a Living Wage set in Rhode Island. Right now the minimum wage set to afford a two bedroom apartment is $24/hour. We must raise our minimum wage to at least $15/hour so Rhode Island can compete with surrounding states, improve employee retention for small, local businesses and to grow our economy by putting more money into the wallets of people who spend their money at local businesses.
I am passionate about common sense initiatives that will create a more equitable Rhode Island. We must implement the Green New Deal in Rhode Island so that we can invest in renewable energy, especially since we spend $6 billion on importing fossil fuels. We should be investing in renewable energy to cut our emissions and dependency on fossil fuels. Investing in the state would allow for priorities like affordable housing, new infrastructure and investments in education. These all are pieces of the Green New Deal, which is why it should be such a priority here in Rhode Island. These proposals will endure that every Rhode Islander has an opportunity to have a good paying job, access to clean water, housing and medical care. This is so essential to keep our communities healthy. I live in a district that has been affected by the climate crisis already so we need urgent action to prepare for the future.
