PORTLAND, Maine: Maine's Supreme Court has upheld the York County Superior Court's contempt ruling against Lyman, Maine business owner Robert St. Onge. St. Onge was ordered to spend 50 days in jail.[1] His composting business is in a dispute with the Department of Environmental Protection over stream pollution. Justice Warren Silver affirmed that the Superior Court has the power to impose sanctions. St. Onge, who has had a stay of his sentence during the appeals process, waived his right to a jury trial.[2]
