The Maine Bangor-Brewer Toll Bridge Bond Issue, also known as Referendum Question No. 2, was on the September 10, 1951 ballot in Maine as a legislatively referred bond question, where it was approved.[1] The measure authorized the issue of $2.5 million in bonds to construct a toll bridge across the Penobscot River between the cities of Bangor and Brewer.[2]

Aftermath

On September 12, 1955, $2.45 million in bonded indebtedness remained on the Bangor-Brewer Toll Bridge.[3] On October 12, 1959, a debt of $2.25 million remained on the bridge.[4]

REFERENDUM QUESTION NO. 2

"Shall a bond issue be ratified in an amount not to exceed $2,500,000 as set forth in 'An Act to Authorize the Construction of a Toll bridge Across the Penobscot River Between the Cities of Bangor and Brewer,' passed by the 95th Legislature?" [5]
