The Maine Electronic Beano Question did not make it on the November 6, 2012 ballot in the state of Maine as an indirect initiated state statute. The measure would have allowed for two Maine Indian tribes in the state to operate "high stakes" electronic beano. According to the Maine Secretary of State's website, the measure was sponsored by Wayne T. Mitchell.[1]
Path to the ballot
Supporters of the measure had until the January 30, 2012 petition drive deadline to turn in 57,277 signatures to be considered for the 2012 ballot.
The measure's supporters did not collect enough signatures by the deadline to make the ballot.[2]
