Maine Higher Education Loans to Parents, Proposed Constitutional Amendment No. 2 (1982)

The Maine Higher Education Loans to Parents Referendum, also known as Proposed Constitutional Amendment No. 2, was on the November 2, 1982 ballot in Maine as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved.[1] The measure authorized the use of state credit to secure funds to make educational loans to parents of Maine students attending institutions of higher education. This amended Section 2 of Article VIII, Part First of the Maine Constitution.[2][3]
