|
|
The Maine Barlow and Tabb Labor Union Bills was on the September 13, 1948 ballot in Maine as an indirect initiated state statute, where both potential bills were defeated.[1] The ballot allowed voters to choose one of the three following options:[2]
- In favor of the Barlow Bill, which would have protected "the right to work" while also prohibiting secondary boycotts, sympathetic strikes and jurisdictional strikes
- In favor of the Tabb Bill, which would have protected the right of member and non-members of labor organizations to the opportunity to work
- Against both measures
Voters overwhelmingly voted against both versions of the "right to work" legislation.
