The Maine Uniform State Property Tax Question was on the December 5, 1977 ballot in Maine as an indirect initiated state statute, where it was approved.[1] The measure repealed the uniform property tax and changed portions of the school funding law. The tax law had assessed all taxable property in the state at a uniform tax rate to finance no more than half of the public school education costs.[2]
