The Maine Voter Identification Question did not make the November 6, 2012 ballot in the state of Maine as a legislatively referred state statute. The measure would have mandated that identification be shown before residents vote in an election. The bill was introduced with Maine Legislature during 2011 state legislative session, and was carried over to the 2012 state legislative session. The bill's title was LD 199.[1]
