Maine high court overturns man's sexual assault convictions
March 5, 2010
Maine: The Maine Supreme Court, on Thursday, March 4, threw out the convictions of Jack Bailey II and sent the case back to the state Superior Court for further proceedings. Bailey was convicted of sexual assault in 2008 after the police searched his apartment as part of a child pornography investigation and charged him with 13 counts of sexual assault, the sexual exploitation of a minor and unlawful sexual contact with two minors. The state Supreme Court has said that the evidence acquired from the search be thrown out due to the search being done under false pretenses.[1]
