A Malheur County Vector Control District Levy measure was on the November 6, 2012 election ballot in Malheur County, which is in Oregon, where it was approved.
This measure authorized the Malheur County Vector Control District to renew a levy of $.20 per $,1000 of assessed valuation in order to fund the control of larva and certain adult mosquitoes, which transmit West Nile virus and other communicable diseases. The estimated first year revenue from this tax is $295,000.[1]
