This measure sought to renew the current sinking fund levy which is set at a rate of $.40 per $1,000 assessed property value for a further five years in order to continue to pay into the school sinking fund which pays for facility construction and repair projects.[2]

The question on the ballot:
| Shall the Mancelona Public School be authorized to levy four-tenths (0.40) mill ($0.40 per $1,000 of taxable value), for a period of five (5) years, from July 1, 2012, through June 30, 2017, to create a building and site sinking fund for the purpose of the construction or repair of school buildings or any other purpose allowed under Michigan law? This millage would provide estimated revenues to the Mancelona Public School of approximately One Hundred Eleven Thousand Four Hundred Ninety Seven and 00/100 ($111,497.00) Dollars during the 2012 calendar year, if approved and levied.[3] |
