A Manhattan Public Library District building referendum took place on April 7, 2009 in Will County for voters in the Manhattan Public Library District in Illinois.[1] The measure was defeated, with 868 votes in support and 1,982 against.

The Manhattan Public Library District serves Manhattan, Manhattan Township, Elwood and Jackson Township.
Voters were asked to approve construction of two buildings, one in Elwood and one in Manhattan.
