Campaign themes

2014

Martin's website highlighted the following campaign themes:[1]

SCA-5 Is Racial Discrimination

  • Excerpt: "Discrimination is never ok, and it’s never more dangerous than when yielded by the state."

Responsible Regulation Reform

  • Excerpt: "I want simple common sense regulation reform. When elected I will write a bill that says any state agencies that wants to enact an economic regulation or fee, can only do so by getting an elected representative to carry that regulation as a bill, to be voted on by the legislature."

My Pledge to the Middle class and the Elderly

  • Excerpt: "I want to exempt hard working Californians from over time taxes. If you take the time away from your family to provide more for them, your labor should be yours, not the politicians."

Common Core

  • Excerpt: "I want education to stay local, not be dictated by Washington DC and special interests."

Full Time Representation Plan

  • Excerpt: "Our Republican form of government only works when people are properly represented and representatives are forced to adhere to the people. Instead, our representatives too often adhere to lobbyists, special interest groups, and corporations."
