Campaign website

Friedenberg’s campaign website stated the following:

Jobs
I will bring high-paying jobs to our district and stick up for working people instead of corporations.

Healthcare
Marc supports a Medicare-for-all, single-payer national health insurance system. He will invest federal resources to fight the opioid crisis in our district and strengthen our rural community health centers.

Education
As an educator, I know how vital education is to the future of our district and our country.

Environment
The environmental challenges we face here in our district present us with a great opportunity to join the next energy revolution.

Public Safety
I support common-sense solutions to gun violence and know that there is common ground among our district's gun owners, law enforcement, parents, and teachers.

Rural Broadband
This is a top priority issue for schools, farmers, and job creators, and with my background in Internet technology, I know how to get it done.

Women's Health
I will fight to protect programs like Medicaid and Title X that support women’s health and their right to control their own bodies.

Veteran's Issues
I will fight to protect and expand the VA’s ability to provide our veterans with their hard-earned benefits.

Agriculture
I've traveled our district and talked to farmers and dairy workers about their struggles maintaining the heart and soul of rural communities.

Civil Rights
I believe that all people are created equal, and will fight to support the legal rights of marginalized communities. [2]

Candidate Connection

Marc Friedenberg participated in Ballotpedia's candidate survey on April 16, 2018. The survey questions appear in bold, and Marc Friedenberg's responses follow below.[4]

What would be your top three priorities, if elected?

Created jobs by investing in our infrastructure. Making sure that no American goes without healthcare. Making America's public schools the envy of the world.[5][2]

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? Why?

As a cybersecurity law expert, I understand fully the threats that currently face our elections process. Once elected, I am committed to applying my technical knowledge to shore up vulnerabilities in the information systems of our local, state, and federal governments, making sure that every vote is counted fairly and accurately.

We also need to ensure that the essential Constitutional right to vote is protected for every American. The right to vote is currently under attack. Seventeen states introduced new restrictions on voting in the 2016 Presidential election. Partisan gerrymandering has made a mockery of the principle of “one person, one vote” in dozens of states. We need to pass federal legislative action, such as the Voting Rights Advancement Act, to reverse the damage and to restore our basic democratic ideals.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; invalid names, e.g. too many[2]

Biographical submission response

I'm running to represent the working people of #PA05, not big corporations and the ultra-wealthy. I'm fighting for a fairer future guided by moral principles, where every citizen has a good job, healthcare, and education [2]
