Mulcahy ran for Lt. Governor of Montana on a Libertarian ticket with Ron Vandevender. They faced Republicans Rick Hill and Jon Sonju, Democrats Steve Bullock and John E. Walsh, and independent candidates Bill Coate and Joni Oja in the general election on November 6, 2012.[1]
