Marc Savitt
Marc Savitt was a 2016 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 2nd Congressional District of West Virginia.[1] Savitt was defeated by incumbent Alexander Mooney in the Republican primary.[2]
Savitt was a 2014 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 10th Congressional District of Virginia.[3] He was defeated by Barbara Comstock in the Republican primary.[4]

Heading into the election, Ballotpedia rated this race as safely Republican. Incumbent Alex Mooney (R) won election to his second term, defeating Mark Hunt (D) in the general election on November 8, 2016. Mooney defeated Marc Savitt in the Republican primary, while Hunt defeated Tom Payne, Harvey Peyton, Cory Simpson, and Robert Wilson Jr. to win the Democratic nomination. The primary elections took place on May 10, 2016.[5][2]

Savitt ran in the 2014 election for the U.S. House to represent Virginia's 10th District.[3] Barbara Comstock defeated Savitt, Rob Wasinger, Howie Lind, Stephen Hollingshead and Bob Marshall in the firehouse primary held April 26, 2014.[4]
