a candidate for the District 5 seat on the Pasco County School Board in Florida. He was defeated by Steve Luikart in the general election on August 26, 2014.
Biography
Yacht taught in Philadelphia City School District before he began his medical career. He served as the director of the Pasco County Department of Health from 1987 to 2007. Yacht has worked as a physician consultant since 2007. He and his wife, Helen, have three kids who attended district schools.[1][2]

The August 26, 2014, general election in Pasco County featured three seats up for election. District 5 incumbent Steve Luikart won re-election, defeating challenger Marc Yacht. Fellow board members Allen Altman and Cynthia Armstrong ran unopposed and won their re-election bids in District 1 and 3, respectively.
