Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

Hi, my name is Marcello Page, and I'm campaigning for District 1 of the Hinesville City Council. I relocated to Coastal Georgia in order to be nearer to my family and to start over. My mother put a lot of effort into giving me an opportunity-rich life. I received my diploma from Georgia Cyber Academy, one of the biggest charter schools in Georgia. Shortly after, I enrolled at Columbia University to pursue a degree in criminal justice. In order to care for my mother and her disabilities, I was forced to put my schooling on hold a year later, which resulted in even more difficult tasks for me to accomplish.

My entire life, I have faced whatever challenges life has thrown at me and have always found a way to get back up and stick to my values. Living in poverty is a familiar experience among many others. Many outstanding people have benefited from privileged upbringings, while others are hindered from success by a range of various problems. Because I also come from a place of poverty, as your representative, I will be able to understand. I sincerely and fully grasp the policies that will work in the people's favor and provide us with the best opportunity for success in life. We can strengthen this developing community by working together.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

To Enhance Public Safety, I plan on funding new technology, equipment, filling vacancies, and adding a new Community Service Officer/Volunteer firefighter Program to help support each department. i Will also support more de-escalation,anti-racial bias, and crisis intervention training. I will be reducing the turnover rate with Incentives and policy changes.

I have noticed that High property tax rates deter investments, chase people out of cities, and make it harder to attract new residents. This leads to more uncollected bills, because of the heavy tax burden we all are experiencing.We can Generate money without raising property taxes, by improving collections and increasing the public's service to city residents, and by helping manage those services more efficiently. More commercial developments will need to be added and eliminating wasteful spending with a Zero-based budget, while taking advantage of green renewable energy. The need to help the city stop the curve of cost to the citizens will be absolute.

To encourage economic growth, I would like to create an atmosphere, and community that is welcoming to businesses; doing so, will hopefully entice them in wanting to invest in Hinesville even more. advertising a variety of incentives, grants, and micro-loans will bring in more industries that will help Stimulate the local economy. Creating a small business Council that will allow them to draft policies to help make businesses operate more efficiently. We must also b

What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?

Yes, I am young, but I have an untethered passion for the community that runs through my veins. I truly love my community and believe that I am capable of developing fresh ideas that hold different approaches, that will improve, and help grow this community. I know the wants and needs of our community, and change needs to be put in motion, right now. I will always put the community first and will be of service to the ones who are in need of it. I am not the type to make false convictions and promises that I know I will not be able to keep. Your needs and wants will be my main focus and priority.

What is something that has been a struggle in your life?

Living in low-income housing while growing up allowed me to personally witness the suffering of poverty. I was also raised by a dedicated mother who did her best to provide for me. No matter what life throws at you, working hard, being of service to others, and never giving up are values that my mother instilled in me. Clearly, many great people came from privileged upbringings, and many others are prevented from achieving success by a variety of issues, which has given me the ability to overcome numerous obstacles.
