2018
Incumbent Marcia Andrews was unopposed in the election for District 6 on the Palm Beach County school board. Since only one candidate filed, the election was canceled and did not appear on the ballot.
2014
The August 26, 2014, general election in Palm Beach County featured four seats up for election. Only three of the races were decided in the general election. The general election determined if candidates for each seat could garner a majority of the vote total. Because no candidate received 50 percent plus one of the general election votes in District 4, the top two vote recipients advanced to the runoff election on November 4, 2014.
The District 4 race included newcomers Justin Katz, Larry F. Rosensweig, Thomas G. Sutterfield and Erica Whitfield. Whitfield advanced to the runoff election in first place. A recount was held to determine whether Sutterfield or Katz would advance to the runoff election in second place. Sutterfield's lead held and he advanced over Katz to the runoff election. Rosensweig, however, was defeated in the general election.
District 3, 6 and 7 races were determined in the general election. Karen Brill won re-election in District 3 against John Michael Hartman and David Benoit Mech. Incumbent Marcia Andrews defeated newcomers Carla Donaldson and Joe Moore in District 6. The District 7 race featured incumbent Debra L. Robinson who defeated challenger Piaget "Peppi" Hendrix.

Andrews' campaign website listed the following themes for the 2014 race:
“ |
It has been an honor to serve you as your School Board Member for the past four years. In that time we have accomplished much, but there still is a lot more that needs to be done. At the district level, Palm Beach County is the highest performing urban school district in the state. Despite the impact of the recession and significant budget cuts, we were able to balance our budget and continue making gains in student achievement. This year, for the first time in several years, we were able to give our teachers and district employees a raise. District 6 has also made significant progress. In our western communities, we’ve added numerous new career academies:
And, a new International Baccalaureate Program will open soon at Royal Palm Beach High School. In the Glades area, we’re building three new badly needed elementary schools. After 10 years, we reopened West Tech and began offering career academies for adults and soon for high school students. We opened Early Childhood and Teacher Academies at Pahokee High School. The school district also opened a satellite office in the Glades and began simulcasting school board meetings to the Glades area for the first time. I have worked hard to be responsive to the needs of our residents and to improve the quality of education for all of our students. With your continued support, we will continue to improve the quality of public education in Palm Beach County.[4] |
