An effort to recall Marcia Armstrong from her position as the elected Siskiyou County District 5 supervisor was abandoned in February 2012 after failing to submit sufficient signatures to force a recall election.[1]

Reasons for recall

A group called Scott Valley Protect Our Water (POW) was behind the recall effort. POW Vice President Mark Baird said Armstrong had “failed to adequately represent her constituents."[1]

Path to the ballot

Recall organizers needed to submit 1,292 signatures, representing 25% of the registered voters in District 5, by February 1st, 2012. Recall supporters had only gathered 267 signatures by the time of the deadline.[1]
