I am a retired Army Officer that has lived in Burke Virginia since 2018. My wife and two children deceived to remain in Virigina after my service. Over the past five years we have deepened our roots in the community. We attend Nativity Catholic Church in Burke. Our children participate in scouting where my wife serves as “cookie mom” for our daughters Girl Scout Troop. Over the past few years, I have taken a leadership role as the commissioner of the Springfield Youth Club Lacrosse program and currently coach the 8 under Girls team. In addition to volunteering in the community, I am a member of several veteran's organizations, Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Military Officers Association of America. As a mixed-race family and the Husband of an immigrant I understand the unique backgrounds of all the citizens of Northern Virginia. Our family has lived across the globe from Europe to Asia, from Colorado to Virginia, our family benefits from the many cultural influences of our travels and the rich cultural diversity of our community is one of the reasons we live in Northern Virginia.
  • Our schools are not focused on education and achievement but the boutique politics of the left. Students are falling behind and the decline of performance of our students means a lifetime of lack luster achievement when they enter the workforce.
  • Taxes on our income, housing, food, and property are being used as a piggy bank by politicians. Our State and Local budgets keep increasing, and the only ones being asked to do more with less are taxpayers. The ever-increasing property taxes are being spent on underperforming services such as declining test scores in our schools.
  • Panhandling, graffiti, property crime and drugs are entering our community. We have laws on the books but our police do not feel empowered to enforce them and local States Attorney are not prosecuting criminals. The State Legislature has the power of legislation and the purse to keeps our communities safe.
Our public schools were the showcase of education for the Nation but the boutique agendas of the few are harming the physical wellbeing of children along with directly impacting their performance in the classroom. Discrimination directed toward children of Asian dissent is not only common but has become a matter of policy. Asian students are punished for performance and earned opportunities are denied by administrators at the school and district level. Crime is entering our schools through violence and drugs and the decline has been rapid.

Taxes are becoming unsustainable for families that have lived in Fairfax County for generations. The ever-increasing property taxes and taxes on food, restaurants, and goods and services mean less opportunities for families. Money taken from taxpayers is money that is no longer available for college funds, retirements, and basic needs. Our families are losing opportunities for their children and risking the financial future of our residents. The State and Local Government needs to eliminate waste and focus on the services that matter to citizens.

The Northern Virgina area is home to thousands of service members and veterans. Our government needs to continue to focus on delivering veterans services, and work towards elimination of taxes on retired pay.
My first job was a package handler for UPS in the late 90s, I was also a member of the Local 705 of the Teamsters Union. I held the position for 4 months prior to enrolling at The Ohio State University.
Children that are falling behind today in the classroom due to poor policy will be left behind in the 21st century economy. Our future is dimming because opportunities are closing due to poor academic performance. Stop the political nonsense in our classrooms. Taxes are creeping up. Keep Northern Virginia affordable for our families.
Based on the performance of our current elected officials, at almost every level of Government, it is time for a new direction and new ideas.
No, this election is about offering a choice to voters in VA HD 15. If elected, I will serve but I have zero ambition to grift off of my neighbors, or aggregate power to myself for any future elected office.
Compromise has a place in politics, how roads are laid or improvements to infrastructure are carried out is an example of where a politician can find compromise. But compromise at the cost of community values or the safety and welling of our citizens is not a foundational principle I ascribe to. Harming children by delivering a lackluster education has permanent consequences. Taxing families to the point where they can no longer save for their retirement or child’s education may have generational impacts. Allowing criminal friendly policies in our community may have tragic outcomes. Compromise is necessary in some government function, but common values cannot be compromised for political gain.
