Marcus Wilson Acheson
Marcus Wilson Acheson (1828-1906) was a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit, the United States Circuit Courts for the Third Circuit, and the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

Judicial career
Third Circuit
Acheson was nominated to the United States Circuit Courts for the Third Circuit by President Benjamin Harrison on January 23, 1891. He was confirmed by the Senate on February 3, 1891, and received commission that same day. On June 16, 1891, he was reassigned to the United States Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit. He served until his death on June 21, 1906.[1]
Western District of Pennsylvania
Acheson was nominated to the Western District of Pennsylvania by President Rutherford B. Hayes on January 6, 1880. He was confirmed by the Senate on January 14, 1880, and received commission that same day. He served on this court until February 9, 1891. Acheson was succeeded in this position by James Hay Reed.
