A Marengo-Union Elementary School District 165 tax rate increase vote took place on April 7, 2009 in McHenry County for voters in Cary School District 26.[1]
The measure was defeated, with 1,374 votes against and 853 in support.

Voters were asked to approve a 48-cent increase in the tax rate.
The increase would have cost the owner of a $200,000 home about $320 more a year.
