Margaret Markey
Margaret M. Markey is a former Democratic member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 30 from 1999 to 2017. Markey was defeated in the primary election held on September 13, 2016.
Biography
Markey graduated from Berkley Business School. Her professional experience includes working as the Director of Marketing and Tourism, Borough of Queens, in 1998, and serving as an Assistant Director of Economic Development, Office of the Queens Borough President Claire Shulman.[1]

Elections for the New York State Assembly took place in 2014. A primary election took place on September 9, 2014. The general election took place on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was July 10, 2014. Incumbent Margaret Markey defeated Dmytro Fedkowskyj in the Democratic primary. Anthony Nunziato was removed from the ballot before the Republican primary. Markey was unchallenged in the general election.[6][7][8]
