Margaret Parisi-McGowan was a judge for the Supreme Court 11th Judicial District in New York. She was elected in the general election on November 8, 2016.

Parisi-McGowan was a judge for the Queens County Family Court from 2006 to 2016.[1]

Education

McGowan attended the Queens College of the City University of New York for her bachelor's degree and Queens College of the City University of New York School of Law for her J.D. She also attended the University of Perugia, Italy for part of her undergraduate studies.[2][1]

Career

McGowan began her career in 1988 as a general practice lawyer working with civil litigation. She then worked as a court attorney in New York from 1990 until 1998, when she was appointed to the New York City Housing Court (Queens County). She was reappointed to the housing court in 2003 and was appointed to the family court in 2006.[1]
