Margaret O. Steinbeck

Margaret Ogilvie "Meg" Steinbeck is a Lee County judge of the 20th Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. She was appointed by former Governor Jeb Bush in 1998. She was re-elected in 2006 and 2012. Her current term ends in January of 2019.[1][2][3][4][5][6]
Steinbeck is married to fellow circuit judge Mark A Steinbeck.[1]
2012 election
Steinbeck ran for re-election on Aug. 14, 2012. She defeated Karen Elizabeth Miller with 51.3% of the vote.[6][7]

Education
Steinbeck received her B.S. degree from the University of Georgia in 1978 and her J.D. degree from the University of Virginia Law School in 1984. She then earned her LL.M. degree from the U.S. Army's Judge Advocate General School in 1989.[2][8]
Career
Steinbeck served on active duty as an Army Judge Advocate General officer from 1984 through 1990. She then became a private practice attorney, working in civil litigation until 1995. During that time, she worked for the firms of Steptoe & Johnson (Washington, D.C.), Frost & Jacobs (Naples, Fla). and Cheffy, Passidomo & Steinbeck (Naples). In 1995, she was appointed Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Florida. She served in that capacity until her appointment to the circuit court in 1998.[8][1]
