Margaret Rose Henry
Margaret Rose Henry (b. June 20, 1944) is a former Democratic member of the Delaware State Senate, representing District 2 from 1994 to 2018. Henry served as state Senate majority leader. Henry did not file to run for re-election in 2018.
She previously served as the Senate majority whip.
Biography
Henry graduated with her bachelor's degree from Texas Southern University and later obtained a master's degree from Springfield College. When she served in the state Senate, Henry was program coordinator of the Woman's Center at Delaware Technical and Community College in Wilmington. Prior to her election, Henry was active in various human service careers. She worked at the YMCA and United Way of Delaware, as director of Delaware Guidance Service, an administrator for the Ingleside Retirement Community, and the executive director of Girls Incorporated of Delaware.[1]

Elections for the Delaware State Senate took place in 2014. A primary election took place on September 9, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was July 8, 2014. Incumbent Margaret Rose Henry was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Robert F. Martin (R) was unopposed in the Republican primary. Henry defeated Martin in the general election.[3][4][5]

On November 4, 2008, Henry won re-election to the Delaware State Senate from Delaware's 2nd Senate District. Henry was unopposed in the election, and she received 11,872 votes.[8] Henry raised $32,111 for her campaign.[9]
