I was born and raised in South Omaha. I am a South High alum. In my junior year of high school, I was selected as the Girls State representative. So at a young age, I learned about the operations of state government. I graduated from UNO with my masters in business. For my undergraduate degree, I attended under the Goodrich scholarship program. After my retirement from the federal government, I returned to Omaha in 2014. I have always had a passion for community service. A primary interest has been working with the South Omaha Neighborhood Alliance (SONA). I was appointed to the Omaha School board in 2021 and was elected by subdistrict 8 in 2022. I absolutely enjoy serving on the school board. I have two children and four grandchildren.
  • I support public schools. I do not support any mechanism used to choose public funding for private schools. We must keep our public schools strong.
  • I am supportive of lowering property taxes in Nebraska. I think we need to continue to look for a long term solution to sustain lower property taxes. We need a massive review of where expenses can be reduced. We cannot keep raising the sales tax to meet the reduced property tax goal. I certainly support future casino income being used to meet Nebraska's fiscal needs.
  • I want to advocate for meeting our long-term care needs, both urban and rural. My 100 year old mother lives in my home because there are not enough medicaid beds available. I know first hand, the challenge of elder care givers. If sustaining care continues in the home, then how can we support elder care givers? I am not against looking at tax credits or stipends. Possibly the immigrant workforce could fill this void.
education and pathway to citizenship for DACA students.
Acceptance of diversity. Representing the desires of your district and not your own agenda.
My college professor told me I have good negotiating skills!
To work with other legislators to accomplish concrete, inclusive and equitable decisions for the state.
I worked for Commercial Federal Savings and Loan. I started in high school and kept it until December 31, 1979. Then, I started an internship with the federal government.
Improved mass transportation system, protecting our water resources, immigrant workforce solutions, attracting new industry to the state.
Yes, I think it contributes to a better cohesiveness for action. Everyone brings a different set of interests and goals. We must work together.
Getting support for elder caregivers in the home.
Education, Health and Human Services, Appropriations, Urban Affairs
Important attributes to build trust and budget control.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Nebraska

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
