Maria Contreras-Sweet
Maria Contreras-Sweet was the 24th administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).[1] She was confirmed by the Senate on March 27, 2014, by voice vote.[2]
She previously served as the secretary of business, transportation, and housing for the state of California.[3]
Biography
Contreras-Sweet was born in Guadalajara, Mexico, and immigrated to the United States with her family when she was five years old.[3] After serving in California public office, she founded several businesses and community organizations.[4]
