I am Maria Cormos, running for NC’s 2nd Dist.—Senate seat in the General Assembly. I believe the current situation must change, and neither of the usual parties have the answers we need. I’m originally from Ohio, but my husband and I, along with our two beautiful daughters, now call the Crystal Coast our home. As your representative, I would focus my efforts on quality sound education, and ensuring that our schools are kept safe.
  • I support private education and school vouchers. Those in charge have let the public education system down. The prolonged shutdowns and mandates enforced previously have only hurt children and families.
  • I support the legalization of medical marijuana for those who are terminally ill. I believe doing so would also help combat the opioid epidemic while giving people safer alternatives. Furthermore, decriminalization would save taxpayer dollars by not prosecuting victimless crimes.
  • I support Constitutional Carry and the Castle Doctrine. The right to protect your family and home must be protected. I do not support prosecuting any individual who acts in defense of self or property.
I am passionate about community safety and responsible policing. Our children’s safety must be the number one priority in our budget.
I care about the general well-being of others and their families. I care to see that my community is a thriving place and is safe enough to promote sustainable growth.
